    1. Complete the application in its entirety. 2. The completed application must be received by May 10, 2024 by 11:59pm EST.  3. Eligibility: High School Seniors who are full-time Sherman residents graduating from any high school this June, planning to enroll at a 4- year, 2-year, or Community College, Vocational Institution OR planning to Enlist in the Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force). A second award will be available to full-time or former Sherman resident seeking to continue their education, who are enrolled, or applying to enroll, in an accredited institution . Such residents must have previously served in the Armed Forces and claim veteran status according to Title 38 of Code of Federal Regulations or be currently serving in the Active, Reserve or National Guard component of the Armed Forces. 5. Scholarship Award: Two $1000 awards are available, one to a Graduating High School Senior and one to a Veteran/Military Member continuing their education. Applications will be reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Incomplete applications or those with spelling and grammatical errors may be disqualified. Interviews may occur as part of the application process. The decision of the Sherman Veterans Association in awarding the Walter B. Wriston Scholarship is final. In the case of those "applying" for enrollment at the time of application submission, the actual scholarship award is contingent upon acceptance at an accredited institution.
